–Description:
The advent of uptake of mobile technology in Africa provides an enormous opportunity to rethink how we communicate with teenagers and youth using localized content they can identify with. Life and Social skills affecting them, which are key to their well being, will require innovative approaches that talk to their generation culture. These issues include gender-based violence, alcohol and substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, racism, bully including cyber-bullying, career planning, confidence and HIV/AIDS. Our Award winning Mobile Game MORABA has potential to address these issues.
On the other hand the global effects of unemployment highly affect the youth. What alternative employment should be looked at as the solution for the 21st Century. Afroes in collaboration with Rockefeller Foundation has developed a mobile game called JobHunt which can again contribute to the much needed solution for youth unemployment.
