More Information

In January 2016 Floor Nagler went to volunteer on Lesvos. She was shocked by the enormous amount of discarded boats and life vests left behind on the beaches and also noticed the need for bags.

As a textile artschool student Floor was really inspired to do something, so she called her friend Didi Aaslund, arts and crafts student, and together they decided to design a bag using the boats and life-vests. Floor brought 20 kilos of boat material that she had collected from Lesvos beaches, to the Netherlands. Back in Amsterdam, Floor and Didi took a month to design a bag that could be assembled during a workshop. The end of February they went to Lesvos together to try out of their workshop.

Now, they feel like they’ve found their life mission and unite as the No Mad Makers.

Didi Aaslund is a student at the Hout- en meubileringscollege a school for arts and crafts. With work experience as cook and baker, crafts have always played an important role in her life.

I like making shoes, but I love people, Recently Didi has found her calling. She combines her makers skills to interact with people.
