More Information
Description:

Online Soccer Manager is the biggest game in the appstores made in The Netherlands with more than 4 million users worldwide on iOS, Android and Facebook. It has seen immense growth the past years, especially on mobile. Recently we upgraded to a new version called OSM 3. By doing so, we have increased user retention and revenue. In my talk I will explain why and how we did that, and what you can learn from this, when developing or upgrading your own games.

In OSM, the user is in charge at the club, deciding everything from A to Z. Achieving the goal set by the board is the main objective of the game. The users decide on the tactics, training, line-up and transfers. But decisions regarding the expansion of the stadium and contracting sponsors are also his responsibility.

Speakers:

Jeroen Derwort is the CEO of Gamebasics. A company that he started from his attic room in 2001. Now it's a business with over 40 employees. The HQ of Gamebasics, based in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands, is designed like a footballstadium. There are stadiumseats, a life-sized football goal and a skybox. Together with programmers, designers and online marketeers, Jeroen works on the game Online Soccer Manager with the mission to allow all football fans worldwide to become the manager of their favourite football club.
