GDPR is the new privacy law valid for any EU citizen to which any company should be compliant to and, it is much more than a policy. CTO, CEO and Developers are asked to answer to the growing requests of security regarding any kind of product in order to be compliant with the law, so in this talk analyze some critical aspects with the purpose of building an easy step-by-step practical guide of the techniques needed to improve security and privacy. The talk will start exploring the security aspect from the user’s perception, and the market proposition of big players related to the GDPR. Moreover, we are going to take a deep dive in GDPR on how to build a privacy policy and when to ask for user’s consensus.

Afterwards, the Privacy by design and security aspect will be investigated with a detailed analysis of data source, pseudonymisation and anonymization techniques to store data and how they affect the processing. Finally segregation of duties of a Cloud Storage Company as a Privacy protection technique will be investigated, and some aspects of cyber security and penetration test tools that can help out without slowing down the start-up continuous deployment strategy.


Evan Tedeschi - ICT Expert - privacy Specialist

Born in 1976, graduated in Physics. Just after school (1995) I started working in the startup environment. I gained experience in Europe, US and the Middle East. My career started as first Engineer at where I investigated some mathematical aspects of computational linguistics. After some years in consultancy I started my path with Memopal, a cloud storage Company where I deeply investigated new ways of developing business and products, including lean methodology. During this path I gained a lot of experience in security and GDPR cooperating with companies like Hitachi, Google, Turk Telekom and Western Digital. Since 2015 I deliver professional talks on how to implement Privacy by design in any IT environment. As a Product Manager my work is bring startup’s growing strategies into traditional companies. From 2018 I have been teaching the second level master ‘’Privacy by design in the GDPR Environment’’, at Politecnico di Milano University.
