Even though Bitcoin remains by far the most famous and widespread cryptocurrency, there is a bunch of noteworthy projects that are different from most of the other coins or tokens, thanks to their innovative approach in terms of technological solutions and governance models. Dash and IOTA are two of those projects:
- Dash was born in early 2014 from Bitcoin. Dash operates as the first Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO), utilizing a self-funding treasure model to grow the network, instead of an ICO and investors. As a cryptocurrency, Dash is digital cash and is focused on instant transactions and micro-fees.
- IOTA was created in late 2015 and it is based on a completely different architecture from the traditional Blockchain. IOTA’s transactions are processed in a directed acyclic graph structure named “Tangle” instead of a Blockchain, with asynchronous confirmations and potentially unlimited scalability
