The talk exposes how technology, which we currently use as a tool, can become an extension of our body and our perception, and how it can lead us to reconnect with the environment that surrounds us and the planet in which we live; all shown through the personal experience of the artist Manel Muñoz after having installed in his body a cybernetic sensory organ to perceive the atmospheric pressure of the place where he is.
Speakers:Manel Muñoz - Cyborg, founder of Transspecies SocietyManel Muñoz is a Catalan cyborg artist based in Barcelona, best known for developing and installing a cybernetic sensory organ in his body that allows him to perceive barometric pressure changes through beats at different speeds in his skull.
Muñoz studied contemporary photography in Barcelona and became Cyborg Foundation's artist in residence in 2016. In 2017, he co-founded the Transpecies Society, an association that offers the creation of new senses and new organs in community, gives voice to people who do not identify as being 100% human and raises awareness on issues they face.
